Guwahati, 16 Oct: Garima Saikia Garg, wife of late singer Zubeen Garg, appealed for peace on Thursday morning following violent protests outside Baksa District Jail on Wednesday. In a Facebook post, she expressed her grief and highlighted the widespread loss felt by Assamese families and fans worldwide, urging people to support each other and avoid further conflict.
The unrest erupted after five individuals, Shyamkanu Mahanta, Siddharth Sharma, Sandeepan Garg, and two personal security officers, Nandeshwar Bora and Paresh Baishya, were transferred to Baksa District Jail. The five are in judicial custody in connection with Zubeen Garg’s mysterious death.
