New Delhi, May 20: In a spirited rebuttal to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s remarks on healthcare infrastructure, AAP spokesperson Jasmine Shah fired back, suggesting that Sarma should visit a mohalla clinic in Delhi to have his mental health evaluated.
The comment came during Shah’s interaction with reporters on Monday, where he laughed off Sarma’s proposition of replacing mohalla clinics with superspeciality hospitals if the BJP came to power.
Shah’s retort underscored the AAP’s commitment to its healthcare initiatives, epitomized by the renowned mohalla clinics, which have been instrumental in providing accessible and affordable healthcare services to Delhi residents. Shah challenged Sarma to witness firsthand the impact of these initiatives, emphasizing that the people of Delhi had overwhelmingly supported AAP for its transformative healthcare policies.
Further lambasting the Assam CM, Shah criticized Sarma for what he termed as “political cleansing” within the BJP, insinuating that Sarma had undergone a transformation akin to passing through the party’s “washing machine.”
The AAP’s response highlights the party’s confidence in its healthcare model and its readiness to defend its achievements against detractors. By inviting Sarma to experience the efficacy of mohalla clinics, the AAP not only defends its policies but also challenges the healthcare narrative propagated by its political opponents.
