GUWAHATI, Nov 21: Goalpara District Commissioner cum District Returning Officer Pradip Timung on Thursday held a detailed meeting with representatives of recognised political parties regarding the ongoing Special Revision of the electoral roll. The session held in the DC’s conference hall was attended by ADC Jagadish Brahma and Election Officer Pallabi Borah.
The DC addressed queries from the representatives and clarified that the entire process will strictly follow guidelines laid down by the Election Commission of India (ECI). Block Level Officers (BLOs) will begin visiting households from November 22 to collect data for inclusion and exclusion with the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on December 27.

Citizens will have the opportunity to submit claims and objections from December 27 to January 22. After resolving all disputes the final electoral roll will be published on February 10.
Pradip Timung urged political parties and the public to cooperate fully to ensure the preparation of an accurate and error-free electoral roll.
