Gramalok programme held at Samar Dalani

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Aug 21: Gramalok, a literary programme of Sahitya Akademi was held at Udayan Ranga Mancha, Samar Dalani under Biswanath district with a day-long programme. As per the schedule, a poetry circle was held with Bhabani Sarma in the chair. The poetry session began with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp by Punya Nirola, retired headmaster followed by a chorus. Lalit Subba, an eminent poet inaugurated the poetry session. Dr Khemraj Nepal, member of the Nepali language advisory board of Sahitya Akademi graced the occasion as chief guest and briefed the objectives of Gramalok programme.
Notably, Gramalok is a literary programme undertaken by Sahitya Akademi to inspire village writers and promote literary enthusiasm among people. Debaki Dahal, Pragya Luitel, Rishiraj Upadhyaya, Hira Sarma, Lakhima Devi and Mahesh Khatiora read out their self-composed poems. Purna Kumar Sarma, eminent dramatist and writer forwarded a critical analysis of the poems. In between the programme, a drama book compiled by Purna Kumar Sarma was also released by Dr Khemraj Nepal.
Chandra Kanta Sarma, Ballav Chapagain addressed the gathering as guests. Kamal Sarma offered the vote of thanks. All the proceedings of the meeting were conducted by Anjan Baskota. The literary programme was attended by Lila Kanta Sarma, Homnath Dhakal, Someswar Dhakal, Damudar Baral, Narad Upadhyaya, Parbati Sarma besides others.
