GUWAHATI, Dec 31: Two volunteers from Gauhati University National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell have been selected for the prestigious Republic Day Parade Camp to be held from January 1 to January 31, 2023 at New Delhi.
The camp is organised by Directorate of NSS, New Delhi under ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, government of India. A total of 18 volunteers will participate in this camp from seven north-eastern states of India. The Assam team comprising 4 volunteers – Pahi Mahanta from GU NSS Unit, Arjina Begum from Pandu College NSS Unit along with two other volunteers each from Dibrugarh University and Assam Agriculture University will participate in this mega event. The entire North East NSS Contingent will be led by Dr Jugabrat Das, NSS programme officer, Goalpara College.
This year, the Republic Day celebration will be very significant, as the parade will be performed on the newly named Kartavya Path, which was earlier called Rajpath.
