Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Award conferred on social worker Uttam Teron

Award includes Rs 50,000 in cash, citation, memento, photo of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma

HOWRAGHAT, April 20: The 6th Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Award 2024 has been conferred on Uttam Teron, founder of the Parijat Academy.

The award was presented to Teron during the 165th birth anniversary celebrations of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma at Shree Shree Madhavadeba International Auditorium, Shrimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra in Guwahati on April 18.

Ramesh Ch Deka, vice-chancellor of the Cotton University and chief guest of the programme presented the award to him. The award includes Rs 50,000 in cash, a citation, a memento and a photo of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma.

Ajit Boro, president of Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma Trust delivered the welcome speech. The meeting was presided over by Taren Boro, former president of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha. Basistha Bujarbaruah, RSS Kshetra prasarak, Assam Kshetra inaugurated the programme. Floral tributes were offered to Gurudev by the guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Ramesh Ch Deka said, “Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma inspired people to develop spirituality, which helps people to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Gurudev is not only the Dharma guru, but a great social reformer. He is truly a Gurudev for all.”

The meeting was attended by Surjya Kt. Hazarika, President of Axom Sahitya Sabha, Nilo Kt Gayary, general secretary of Bodo Sahitya Sabha, Hemanta Narzary, president of the Guwahati Boro Association Ganesh Daimary, secretary of Bathou Mahasabha and many more. A book titled Gurudev Kalicharan Brahma and Brahma Dharma written by Dhiraj Kumar Bayan and released by Nilo Kt Gayary, general secretary of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha and mouthpiece of the trust ‘Gurudevni Bwswn’ is being inaugurated by Hemanta Narzary , president of the Guwahati Boro Association.
