Guwahati, Oct 14: Guwahati Police have appealed to fans of late singer Zubeen Garg to ensure that tribute events do not disturb public movement or cause inconvenience to citizens. The appeal came after an event reportedly organised under the Sixmile flyover was found to be taking place without prior permission or intimation to authorities.
In a post shared on X, Guwahati Police stated that while no one needs official permission to pay tribute to Assam’s beloved music icon, public convenience must be respected. “We must ensure that traffic is not disrupted and that the normal life of people who are also ardent fans of Zubeen Garg remains unaffected,” the post read.

The police further suggested that such events can be held at approved venues such as Latasil, Chandmari, or other open fields, provided due permission is obtained from the concerned authorities.
The statement concluded with a reminder that any homage to Zubeen Garg should “spread love and harmony, not cause inconvenience to fellow citizens.”
