10-day art and culture workshop to begin July 17 in Guwahati

GUWAHATI, June 30: A 10-day workshop on painting, sculpture, recitation, and dance will be held from July 17 to July 26, 2025, at Nandi Mikir Primary School and Rabindra Nath Das Auditorium of the Chachal Satadal Sakha Sahitya Sabha.

The event is being organised by Aaelita Art and Craft School, affiliated with the Government of Assam and Government of India, and recognised in the India Book of Records and Asia Book of Records.

Expert trainers will conduct sessions in each discipline. Gaurav Hazarika, Director of Sutradhar, along with co-trainer Murchana Mahanta, will train participants in dance.

Atanu Baruah will lead painting and sculpture training, while Abriti Bisharad Meenakshi Devi and Manjula Devi of ‘Kabya Kanan’, Guwahati—recognised by the All India Music and Culture Council, Kolkata—will conduct recitation sessions.

The workshop is open to all. Interested participants are requested to contact Jonaki Kalita Talukdar, Rector of Aaelita Art and Craft School, or Dhananjay Talukdar, President of the School Management Committee, at 94353-48536 or 98641-10708 by July 13, 2025.

The event will conclude with recitation and solo dance competitions, and certificates will be awarded to all participants.

Prizes will be distributed to the winners in the presence of dignitaries.
