During an inspection near the Guwahati Club junction on January 28, the chief minister said nearly 98 per cent of the construction work on the flyover will be completed by February 28. Following this, the structure will be opened to light vehicles, offering early relief to commuters using the busy stretch.

Sarma added that the Maharaj Prithu Flyover is expected to become fully operational by March 15. To further strengthen connectivity in the heart of the city, an additional arm of the flyover will be extended towards Rajgarh.

Once operational, the flyover is expected to significantly improve traffic movement around the Guwahati Club and adjoining areas, which witness heavy congestion during peak hours.
