GUWAHATI, July 8: The Regional Office of the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC), Guwahati, recently observed the 4th anniversary week of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, through a series of awareness and outreach activities.
A workshop on initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation was held at the Institute of Cooperative Management (ICM), featuring presentations on NCDC schemes, assistance models, and success stories.
The event brought together cooperative leaders, members, and other stakeholders for discussions on enhancing the role of cooperatives in sustainable and inclusive growth.
As part of the commemoration, tree plantation drives were conducted at Barkhat Panbari GPSS Ltd., Sonapur, and Dekhial GPSS Ltd., Khetri, Kamrup. Regional Director and NCDC officials, along with members of local cooperative societies, participated in the initiative to promote environmental awareness.
Additionally, lectures on the cooperative model and NCDC’s role in development were delivered at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh.
The session aimed to introduce students to cooperative principles, values, and business models, encouraging youth engagement in the cooperative movement.
These activities underscored NCDC’s commitment to advancing the Ministry’s objectives and strengthening awareness of the cooperative movement across sectors and age groups.
