Health minister Keshab Mahanta visits Kokrajhar Cancer Centre

KOKRAJHAR, April 23: The Kokrajhar Cancer Centre will be inaugurated on April 28. It will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually from Dibrugarh along with other 7 Cancer Centres.
This was informed by Keshab Mahanta, minister of Health and Family Welfare, etc., Assam while talking to media persons during his visit to the construction site of Kokrajhar Cancer Centre at Besorgaon.
At the time, he was accompanied by Kokrajhar MLA Lawrence Islary, BTC executive member for Health and Family Welfare department Arup Kumar Dey, BTC principal secretary Anurag Goel along with other dignitaries of BTC and district administration.
He said that the Kokrajhar Cancer Centre would be functional from April 29, 2022, right from the next day of inauguration as the doctors and medical staff, including administrative officials posted in the Centre had already been in position from the last two- three months to start its initial work.
Expressing his satisfaction over the progress of construction works of the hospital, he also said that this Centre would have all facilities like Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Linac Machines, Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, Radiation Therapy, etc., so that no one has to go to other places for better treatment.
