KHERONI, Sept 22: In a crackdown on illegal timber transportation, the Forest department’s patrolling party intercepted a pickup truck loaded with illicit timber from Doyangmukh, West Karbi Anglong, under the jurisdiction of Southern Range, Kheroni, West Karbi Anglong.
The incident unfolded when the patrolling team encountered the pickup truck at Doyangmukh. The vehicle, bearing registration AS02 1097, was en route from Dima Hasao to Lanka in the neighboring district. Upon sighting the Forest officials, both the driver and helper of the truck hastily fled the scene. Subsequently, the seized pickup truck was transported to the office of the range officer, Southern Range, Kheroni, West Karbi Anglong.
