DEMOW, Sept 23: The district poultry farm which is situated in Demow was revived with new enthusiasm on Thursday with the fund sponsored by Oil India Limited Duliajan.
For a couple of years, the district poultry farm situated in Demow was almost in a dilapidated condition. It was a time when the poultry farmers were supplied with high quality poultry to many districts including Sivasagar.
On Thursday, with the sponsored amount of Rs 10 lakh 26 thousand from Duliajan Oil, the district poultry farm situated in Demow was revived. The farm spends 70 percent of the grants that it currently receives on disabled poultry raising incubators, including electrification, buying chicken eggs and repairing various parts of machines.
On the occasion, a meeting was held at the farm in Demow. In the programme, Aditya Vickram Yadav, deputy commissioner of Sivasagar district; Debasish Borah, public relation officer of Duliajan Oil; Shatapdi Mahanta, deputy director of Animal Husbandry department and a host of dignitaries were present.
