HAFLONG, Dec 4: The District Disaster Management Authority, Dima Hasao, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), National Institute for Disaster Management (NIDM), and Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), successfully conducted a two-day Incident Response System (IRS) training and mock drill exercise on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The first day of the exercise, held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, focused on theoretical training and strategic planning. Government officials from various departments participated in comprehensive sessions aimed at enhancing their understanding of the IRS framework and improving their disaster response capabilities.
On the second day, a live mock drill was conducted at Lal Field. This practical exercise simulated a disaster scenario, allowing participants to apply their training in a controlled environment. The drill tested the coordination and effectiveness of the district’s emergency response teams, ensuring they are well-prepared to handle real-life emergencies.
