Jamuguri Senior Secondary School Organises Freshers Social

BISWANATH CHARIALI, Aug 19:
 The freshers social of Jamuguri Senior Secondary School was held on Wednesday with a day-long programme. The open session held with Golap Kalita, principal of the educational institution in the chair began with a chorus. Amarjyoti Borthakur, former professor of Biswanath College and Dr Ajit Hazarika, principal of THB college graced the occasion as chief guest and guest of honour respectively. Both educationists interacted with the students and delivered lectures. Two wall magazines namely ‘Rengani’ and ‘Jagaran’ were unveiled by Dharmeswar Hazarika, retired principal of Pasighat Government College and Bipul Bora, retired subject teacher of Dekorai HSS respectively. Anjali Minati Puspakanti Memorial Inter-School Quiz Competition was held on Tuesday wherein 22 teams from various educational institutions of the greater Jamugurihat area participated. The winning teams were awarded with memorial trophies in the memory of Anjali Kalita, Minati Kalita and Puspakanti Devi and cash. Toppers of the school were also felicitated by the school authority. All the proceedings of the meeting were carried out by Minku Kalita, teacher of the school while Chandra Mohan Nath, secretary of the SMC offered the vote of thanks. A good number of cultural programmes were performed by the students under the guidance of Pankhi Bhuyan and Purna Nath.
