JORHAT: The body of Nitul Hazarika, a BSF personnel posted at Jammu and Kashmir, who allegedly shot himself a few days ago, reached his home at Na Chungi village in Titabar subdivision in the district on Sunday. The coffin draped in the National Flag was brought by the paramilitary force personnel and he was given a state honour as per protocol.

Grief stricken family members, friends and relatives, refusing to believe that he committed suicide, have demanded an enquiry into the causes leading to his death.

His wife alleged that he called regularly twice in a day, and spoke extensively, enquiring about his children. She said last time she spoke with him he had told her that he had been given mess duties.
