The programme was organised in collaboration with Karbi Students Union (KSU) which saw the distribution of financial assistance to the APSC mains exam aspirants from the ST (H) communities by the chief executive member (CEM) of KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang.

“The KAAC is providing financial assistance to ST (H) aspirants who are competing for APSC mains exam to meet their study and travel expenses and for their stay. We are extending financial assistance so that our ST (H) candidates can compete in such competitive examinations. Like other communities our community can also crack various competitive examinations. We need good and efficient officers,” he said.

CEM also said the KAAC will introduce free coaching for preparation of UPSC exams. The budget provision will be made from this financial year 2022. Experts will be hired to give coaching to the students. All expenses will be borne by KAAC.

MP Horensing Bey said in the 90s due to the Autonomous State movement education in Karbi Anglong was pushed back. Now youths are aware of their education with a competitive spirit. Many have gone to appear for various competitive examinations and study. The initiative of CEM needs to be appreciated for bringing back the educational atmosphere and giving encouragement to youths to excel in education.
