The new entity will collaborate with Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs) across Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong districts to promote contract farming for high-value crops, including organic ginger, turmeric, black pepper and Bird’s Eye chillies. This partnership aims to ensure farmers receive the best market prices through assured linkages.

Under the initiative, processing and packaging centres will be set up in both districts, adding value to local produce and strengthening the region’s farming ecosystem. The project is expected to benefit over 10,000 farmers, providing reliable market access and boosting income opportunities.

Financial projections suggest that the KAAC will earn at least Rs 6 crore in the first year, scaling up to Rs 17 crore annually within two years. The venture will also generate employment with 200 direct jobs in the first year and more than 1,500 jobs within two years, marking a significant step toward rural prosperity, agri-based employment and economic self-reliance.

The MoU signing ceremony held at the KAAC Secretariat in Diphu was attended by KAAC Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ronghang, Lok Sabha MP Amarsing Tisso, MLA Darsing Ronghang along with several executive members, representatives from the Mising Autonomous Council (MAC), KAAC officials and other dignitaries.
