KAAC issues PPC certificates for farmers

DIPHU, Dec 15: The department of Agriculture, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has taken the initiative to approach the lead banks to ease the linkage of Aadhar number with the account numbers of farmers who are beneficiaries of PM Kisan.
For that, the lead bank managers will be requested to arrange the linking of Aadhar of 7,814 farmers of Karbi Anglong district whose Aadhar are yet to be linked with their respective bank accounts which were registered in PM -Kisan portal.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan Yojana), a flagship scheme implemented all over India including Karbi Anglong district through which income support of Rs 6000 per annum is provided to all eligible farmers or families in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000 each every four months.
The Rs 75,000 crore scheme aims to cover 125 million farmers, irrespective of the size of their landholding. The fund of Rs 2,000 is directly transferred to the bank accounts of the farmer/farmer’s family.
Aadhaar is made mandatory as e-Kyc. Those who are already beneficiaries of PM Kisan are also to update their e-KYC by linking their Aadhar with their bank accounts to get the next instalment. Apart from Aadhaar, citizenship certificate, landholding papers and bank account details have to be submitted to the concerned authorities.
The department of Agriculture, KAAC, has also issued Paddy Procurement Centre (PPC) certificates to farmers of Tarabasa Rongpi village under Dokmoka Agriculture Development Office (ADO) Circle, Karbi Anglong. The PPC certificates will enable the farmers to sell their paddy at the Paddy Procurement Centres.
