KANCHASDCOM was responding to criticism by president of All Party Hills Leaders Conference, JI Kathar. Kathar termed the KANCHASDCOM as ‘labourers’ being hired by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) authority to shout at Jantar Mantar.

In a press conference held at KSA Central Executive Committee (CEC) office at Rongtheang here, the general secretary of KANCHASDCOM, Sing Timung said the KANCHASDCOM and its allied organisations have been demanding Autonomous State for 36 years and have yet not given up on it.

Timung said, “The KANCHASDCOM and its allied organisations held a sit-in-demonstration for the Autonomous State issue at Jantar Mantar on August 8. As there was 144 CrPC imposed in New Delhi ahead of Independence Day preparation and we were barred from going to the PMO office to submit a memorandum addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
