Karbi Hemtun inauguration, hostel foundation stone laying rescheduled

DIPHU, Sept 11: The inauguration of ‘Karbi Hemtun’ and laying
of foundation stone of 100 bedded students’ hostel cum –
commercial building at Shillong by Karbi Anglong Autonomous
Council (KAAC) which was supposed to be held on September
12, 2023 has been rescheduled to September 13, 2023.
The KAAC has invited Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa
Sarma to grace the occasion as the chief guest, Meghalaya chief
minister, Conrad K Sangma as the special guest of honour and
urban minister, Govt of Meghalaya, Sniawbhalang Dhar as
guest of honour.
In his handled facebook page the chief executive member
(CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang wrote, “We shall inaugurate
the Karbi Hemtun, Shillong, on the 13 th  September 2023 instead
of the 12 th , including laying of the foundation for 100 capacity
students’ hostel – cum – commercial complex.
It can be mentioned here that the Assam State Assembly has
started the five day Autumn session from Monday.
