KOILAMATI, Jan 2: The Klimthurmi Cultural Society (KCS) in collaboration with Karbi Artists Forum, Nilip Province organised 11th Winter Dance Competition at Tokolangso.
Attending as the chief guest, Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Surjyo Rongphar announced that improvement of roads will be taken up soon. Potable water facility and land pattas will be provided to the villagers of Tokolangso.
The EM also said from next year financial support will be given from KAAC to Klimthurmi Cultural Society for organising the Winter Dance Competition.
Earlier, the villagers of Tokolangso submitted a memorandum to the EM and demanded that a proper inter-district boundary should be demarcated between Karbi Anglong and Golaghat to avoid any misunderstanding by the people residing on both sides and to set-up medical sub-centres.
Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) of Nilip, Pobitra Rongpi; president, Klimthurmi Cultural Society, Biren Hanse and secretary Robinson Terang also attended the programme. There were participants from neighbouring districts like Golaghat and Jorhat as well.
In the solo dance competition, the winner was Yuvi Bora and the first runner up was Sonjay Sarkar from Golaghat district and second runner up was Serlika Engtipi.
While in the group dance, the winner was a group from Manja, first runners up was Lirbon Terangpi and Group and second runners up was Lirdon Terangpi of Tokolangso.
