LGBI Airport starts random Covid testing

GUWAHATI, Dec 26: LGBI Airport, Guwahati has started the random Covid testing of passengers arriving on international flights as per the guidelines issued by the ministry of Health & Family Welfare and ministry of Civil Aviation, in order to minimise risk of ingress of new variants of SARS-CoV-2.
LGBI Airport, Guwahati has set up a special counter for APHO to carry out the checks at the arrival lounge keeping the view of safety for passengers and stakeholders working in the airport.
Currently, all passengers arriving on international flights are going through thermal screening and 2 percent of the passengers are tested RT-PCR at the airport.
However, LGBI Airport, Guwahati has scheduled international flights only on Saturday and Sunday in a week.
