LGBRIMH observes International Nurses’ Day

TEZPUR, May 12: 
Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH), Tezpur observed the International Nurses’ Day, 2023 with the theme of the year – ‘Our Nurses, Our Future’ on Friday.
The programme for the day was started with hoisting of the flag by Kalpana Hazarika, assistant matron of the institute followed by the lighting of the lamp paying tribute to ‘The Lady with the Lamp’.
Dr Arunjyoti Baruah, professor and head, department of Psychiatric Nursing, LGBRIMH delivered the welcome address while the nurses of the institute inaugurated the program by presenting the song of the institute.
Dr Hemanta Dutta, deputy director, and Dr Jyoti Hazarika, medical superintendent, LGBRIMH addressed the audience and narrated the Nurses’ Day message.
For the occasion different programmes were held including essay, quiz and other competitions among students and nurses, during the Nurses’ Week and prizes were also distributed to the winners. The prize distribution programme was followed by a short video presentation on LGBRIMH nurses’ annual activities. Also, the students and staff nurses of LGBRIMH performed different cultural programs for the occasion. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Thresiamma M F Chetry, I/C matron of the institute.
