MAC Pawan Kumar Rai takes oath

KHERONI, June 22: Member of Autonomous Council (MAC) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), Pawan Kumar Rai has been elected as the MAC of 7 Kopili MAC constituency and took oath at Taralangso, Diphu, Karbi Anglong on Monday in presence of the Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagadish Mukhi and the chief minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. He is one of the 26 MACs of BJP.
MAC Pawan Kumar Rai has been elected for the second consecutive term from the 7 Kopili constituency in West Karbi Anglong. Before he took the oath of office, the MAC went to seek the blessings of late leaders Semson Sing Ingti and Khorsing Terang, the architects of modern Karbi Anglong at Taralangso, Diphu.
It may be mentioned here that the BJP made a clean sweep of the MAC election in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong by winning all 26 MAC constituencies by convincing margins reducing all other parties to zero.
