Man hacks wife and daughter to death

DIPHU, Oct 10: A woman and her daughter were hacked to death by a man on Sunday evening. The police arrested the man identified as Bipul Kundo from his residence under Dhansiri police station, Karbi Anglong.
A resident of Siding under Dhansiri police station, Bipul Kundo hacked his wife, Tarabati Kundo (25) and his daughter Ruchika Kundo (1 and a half) to death after a domestic quarrel. The village headman informed the police around 11 pm who arrived at the village and arrested the man from the spot. The bodies have been sent to Diphu Medical College & Hospital for post-mortem.
Villagers said that Kundo had four children and he used to quarrel with his wife often. But last night his children raised a hue and cry after which the villagers rushed to the house of Kundo and on peering inside they found that the man was standing with a ‘dao’ in his hand. With the door locked from the inside, the village youths break down the walls and his other children rush out to save themselves.
The youths subdued Kundo and detained him after which the police were informed of the incident.
