Media Accreditation Cards Handed Over To Newsmen In Silchar

SILCHAR, Aug 6: 
Media accreditation cards issued by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Government of Assam were ceremonially handed over to 20 newsmen including photo journalists and video journalists in Silchar on Saturday.
A programme was held at Circuit House in Silchar on Saturday morning in which MLA Dipayan Chakraborty handed over the cards to the 20 reporters, photo journalists and video journalists in the presence of BJP leaders Bimalendu Roy and Kanad Purkayastha.
The persons who received the media accreditation cards on Saturday include – Himangshu Dey (photo journalist, Gati Dainik), Biswajit Acharjee (reporter, Barak Barta), Sanjib Kumar Singh (sub-editor, Barak Barta), Biswajit Roy (video journalist, Aamar Bangla), Moksudul Choudhury (correspondent, Dainik Jugasankha), Swagat Bhattacharjee (reporter cum sub-editor, Eastern Chronicle), Sakul Islam Mazumder (photo journalist, Dainik Jugasankha), Siddharth Kumar Das (Gati Dainik), Chandra Narayan Singh (correspondent, The Sentinel), Sujoy Nath (staff correspondent, Dainik Jugasankha), Kinkar Das (sports reporter, Gati Dainik), Hemanta Kumar Dutta Purkayastha (sub-editor, Gati Dainik), Debdulal Malakar (staff reporter, Dainik Jugasankha), Santosh Kumar Das (sub-editor, Dainik Prantojyoti), Rahul Kanti Dev (reporter, Dainik Prantojyoti), Chinmoy Nath (staff reporter, Dainik Jugasankha), Nurul Huda Laskar (sub-editor, Dainik Jugasankha), Jyotirmoy Kanti Das (reporter, Dainik Jugasankha), Asim Lal Acharyya (sub-editor, Dainik Jugasankha), Ritesh Nunia (photo journalist, Prerna Bharati), Swapnaneel Bhattacharjee (reporter cum sub-editor, Eastern Chronicle), Bikram Sarkar (correspondent, Northeast Live) and Ashish Das (staff reporter, BTN news). Altogether, 42 newsmen were to be handed over the media accreditation cards on the day, but 22 persons were not present at the event and they have been requested to collect their respective cards from the regional office of information and public relations, Silchar.
Sharing his reaction, MLA Dipayan Chakraborty said it was an auspicious day for the reporters / photo journalists and video journalists who received the media accreditation cards and wished that the newsmen would continue to render their services with all dedication and commitment for the betterment of the society. Besides, he praised Himanta Biswa Sarma-led Assam government for issuing the media accreditation cards.
