Memorial prize money football tournament to kick off in Dongkamukam on Jan 20

DONGKAMUKAM, Jan 17: Football enthusiasts in West Karbi Anglong can look forward to high-voltage action as the Sing Ronghang, Dipali Teronpi & Utpal Ronghang Memorial Prize Money Knockout Tournament 2026 is set to begin on the evening of January 20.

The tournament will be hosted at the West Karbi Anglong Sports Association (WKASA) Stadium and is being organised by Hell Angels Dongkamukam in collaboration with the Dongkamukam Sports Association (DSA), with support from the Jambili Motorcycle Club Karbi Anglong and the Dongkamukam Lightning Club.

Organisers have announced an attractive prize structure, with the champions set to receive a trophy along with ₹1 lakh in cash.

The runners-up will be awarded a trophy and ₹50,000, while the third-place team will receive ₹30,000.

Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Hell Angels Club general secretary Sarlong Rongphar said the tournament aims to promote footballing excellence in the district while paying tribute to the individuals in whose memory it is being organised.

He was accompanied by assistant general secretary Longkiri Kathar and advisor Rabindra Rongchehon.

Teams interested in participating will have to pay an entry fee of ₹6,000.

Several well-known teams, including Guwahati FC and Morigaon FC, are expected to take part, promising competitive and entertaining matches.

The organisers expressed confidence that the memorial tournament will provide a major boost to local football and draw large crowds to the stadium.
