Minister Ashok Singhal inaugurates life support ambulance at Dhekiajuli

TEZPUR, Nov 7: Ashok Singhal, minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, etc., inaugurated a life support ambulance and handed it over to the Block Primary Health Centre, Dhekiajuli in a ceremonial programme on Sunday. The ambulance was donated by DIAGEO, a multinational company, at a cost of around Rs 30 lakh.
DC Sonitpur, Deba Kumar Mishra; joint director, Health Services, SDMO, Dhekiajuli BPHC, Dr Pradeep Nath, and representatives DIAGEO were present in the program.
The air-conditioned ambulance has oxygen-support with double jumbo cylinders, cardiac monitoring, defibrillator, portable ventilator, syringe pump, portable electric suction pump, among other equipment. The Dhekiajuli Central Rongali Bihu Organising Committee is bestowed with the responsibility of managing and maintaining the ambulance.
People of the locality expect that it will be more beneficial for patients and will ensure rapid response to medical emergencies in the area.
