Minor kills self in West Karbi Anglong

DONGKAMUKAM, Nov 3: A minor girl student committed suicide by hanging in the hostel of Jawahar Novodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Hongkram in West Karbi Anglong.
The minor (13), daughter of Soron Bey, resident of Dongkamukam was seen laughing and having fun with her hostel mates before committing suicide at around 10 pm of November 2. The minor was a student of class 7.
According to the principal of the concerned JNV, Sidananda Chutia the minor went out of her room telling her friends that she was going to wash her clothes in the bathroom. When after a significant time she did not return they began to search for her. She was found in the toilet by her friends still alive.
The minor was taken to the hospital in Baithalangso but was dead by then. Her body was handed over to the police at Baithalangso police station and later forwarded to Diphu Medical College & Hospital for post mortem report.
The Karbi Students Association demanded an investigation in the death of the minor girl.
