Informing the media after the meeting the EM Tokbi, “We have held a second round of discussion with leaders of student and youth organisations regarding how both the KAAC and student organisations could work together as a team in bringing quality education. It was a fruitful discussion as every shareholder has agreed to work together for the cause of education.”

The EM further said, “We have come up with Mission-2025, which means we have taken a target of three years to bring reform in the education system in the district. We have also targeted achieving quality education in this targeted period,”

Tokbi also said, “The aim and objective of the student organisations is to work for the development of education and we want to work with them as a team in achieving quality education.”

He said each student organisation has targeted certain educational blocks and particular schools on which they will carry out educational awareness and improve education in the area. The particular student organisation which picked the schools or an Educational Block will share the responsibility of the performance of these schools.

According to the EM the lack of a good foundation at primary level, lack of proper communication and lack of awareness by parents are some of the causes of the lack of quality education in the district.

The Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC, Tuliram Ronghang will launch the education awareness campaign on Monday and from August 3 he will be visiting schools in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong.

Tokbi hoped that with teamwork one can make a difference in the education in Karbi Anglong.
