This innovative initiative, spearheaded by the central government, aims to promote digital transactions and bill payments among consumers, specifically encouraging the use of the BHIM (Bharat Interface for Money) app for payment processing. The central government has taken this proactive step to incentivise the adoption of digital payment methods.

Under the administration of the Revenue department, the app will also host a monthly lottery, offering users who upload their bills through the platform an opportunity to win cash prizes.

Notably, the ‘My Bill My Right’ app is currently being rolled out in Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, and several centrally-administered territories, including Daman and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Puducherry.

The launch event was attended by key figures in the Taxation department, including Rakesh Agarwala, commissioner of the Taxation department, and Chakil Chaddha, additional commissioner of Taxes, along with other senior officials from the department.
