NAAC ‘A’ grade to Kanoi college

DIBRUGARH, Feb 8: Dibrugarh Hanumanbax Surajmall Kanoi College received ‘A’ grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
Members of NAAC assessment team – Prof Shyama Nand Singh, dean of South Bihar Central University; Dr Sasi Kanta Dash, registrar of Pondicherry University and Dr Preeti Johari, principal of RCA Girls’(PG) College, Mathura visited the college on February 2 and 3.
The team highly praised the academic and administrative sectors along with the quality of students, regularity of teaching practices, achievements in the fields of education and culture, etc. Along with other sectors the team expressed their satisfaction over the infrastructural facilities of the college.
The principal of the college, Dr Sashi Kanta Saikia said that for the last five years the teachers, staff and the students of the college worked very hard to upgrade the status of the college to ‘A’ grade. Due to such efforts the college is able to upgrade from 2.85 CGPA of last NAAC assessment to 3.03. CGPA and receive ‘A’ grade.
Saikia also said that this NAAC visit also helped in self-assessment by identifying its strengths and weaknesses of the institution.
The principal also highly praised the developmental vision of the coordinator of IQAC, Dr Mridul Sarma. The college fraternity is filled with joy after getting the ‘A’ grade of NAAC.
