Naat Samaroh To Be Held At Jorhat Theatre

JORHAT, April 18: Coinciding with the concluding ceremony of 125 years celebration of Jorhat Theatre, a state level Naat Samaroh (drama conclave) will be organised from April 20 to 24.

This was informed by the 125th celebration organising committee on Monday.

The dramas that will be presented in the five day samaroh are Chanakya, story by Janardan Thakur, directed by Dr Arup Borthakur and to be presented by Jorhat Theatre on the first day; Trahi Dev Damodar, the story and direction is by Nabajyoti Borah and staged by Jyoti Shilpa of Nagaon on the second day; Uchhata, original story by Jean Paul Sartre, drama adaptation and direction by Baharul Islam and to be staged by Seagull, Guwahati on the third day; Bonsai, story by Amar Sharma, directed by Ratul Phukan and to be staged by Naibya Natya Karmi, Bokakhat on the fourth day and Ekanta Enisha (Enixa), original story by Anuradha Sharma Pujari, drama adaptation and direction by Abinash Sharma, and to be staged by J B Production, Tezpur on the fifth day.

On April 20, a cultural procession will be taken out and on April 24, a Shilpi Samaroh and book release function will be organised in which chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is expected to attend.

On the occasion, 125 eminent personalities will be felicitated.
