Nagaon Bhogali Bihu Udjapon Samitee to celebrate 110th Sadou Nagaon Bhogali Bihu Utsav from today

NAGAON, Jan 13: Nagaon Bhogali Bihu Udjapon Samitee celebration committee is all set to celebrate the 110th Sadou Nagaon Bhogali Bihu Utsav at Nagaon Nehrubali field from January 14 to January 19.
The celebration of Bihu will be initiated with ‘Nam-Kirtan’ at the ‘Bhela Ghor’ which is erected at Nagaon Nehrubali field in the evening on Saturday following which a mega public fest (Uruka Bhuj) will be held.
During the week-long celebration, a slew of competitions will be held among the students and others.
The organising committee will also organise ‘Asom Kunwari’ – a mega Bihu competition on Sunday evening at Nehrubali field. Besides, a colourful cultural extravaganza will be held every evening during the week, sources from the Bihu organising committee added.
Meanwhile on January 17 and January 18, a one act play competition will be also held at the district library auditorium, sources said, adding further that a Bhogali Mela would also be held during the days of celebration in which various self-help groups would participate and also exhibit their products or other traditional food items especially being prepared for Bhogali Bihu.
Local MLA and president of the organising committee, Rupak Sarma as well as other members of the committee urged everyone to come ahead to make the programme a successful one.
Similarly, Uriagoan Anchalik unit of Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) in association with Uriagoan Anchalik Unnayan Samiti and Uriagoan Small Scale Businessmen Association, also organised a Bhogali Mela with a three-day long programme at Uriagoan Bypass Chariali.
Meanwhile, Palasani Cultural and Sports Association, Nagaon is also set to celebrate the upcoming Bhogali Bihu with a two-day long programme at the association’s field from January 15 onwards, a release added.
