NAGAON, Sept 21: Nagaon DTO Sunit Bora has urged all the owners of commercial three wheeler as well as four wheeler of the district to pay the outstanding balance of their respective Government taxes on or before September 30 by accepting the ongoing special Government offer on exemption of additional daily basis penalties.
It is worth mentioning that the state Government ensures an offer on exemption of additional penalties being imposed on a daily basis for those who apparently fail to pay their outstanding balance of taxes. The exemption is also for those owners who could not do the renewal of fitness on due dates due to Covid-19 situation last. The period of the relaxation will end on September 30.
Speaking to this correspondent on Tuesday, DTO Bora said, “Although the state Government has been providing the opportunity, yet a large number of vehicle owners of the district have not paid their outstanding taxes and have not done the renewal of fitness of their respective vehicles till date.”
“If they fail to pay the dues within the speculative time i.e. September 30 next, the department concerned will take action against those defaulters as per law,” he said, adding further that after September 30, the department would go ahead and seize their vehicles and heavy penalties would be imposed.
Hence, he appealed to the owners to pay their dues on or before September 30 and renew the fitness of their respective vehicles accordingly.
