Nazira police officer allegedly tortures maid-servant

SIVASAGAR, Aug 26: A sensational report of violence against
maidservant has come to light in Naira on Saturday.
An Additional SP( HQ) Charaideo, residing in Nazira,  Subhalaksmi
Dutta, allegedly carried on brutal atrocity on her maidservant Anima
Praja for five months and being desperate, the maidservant finally
escaped from her house today and with the help of ATTSA members
lodged an FIR in Nazira Model PS.
Daughter of Bipin Nayak of Balijan, Silbari, Lakhimpur, Anima told
media persons that the police officer often had beaten her, poured hot
water, and threatened her not to divulge her condition before anyone.
Sivasagar Police Superintendent Subhrajyoti Bora said that the
maidservant had been sent to the Jaysagar Civil Hospital for a medical
check-up and the physical torture was visible on the maid’s body. ‘The
case will be registered only after the medical report comes and that the
case will be pursued in real earnest’, said Bora.
Meanwhile the ATTSA, Sivasagar district president Rajkishore Bhumij
today demanded immediate arrest of the woman police officer who can
carry on physical atrocity on another woman in her own residence or
the organization will carry out a democratic stir against Sivasagar
police.
