NAGAON, April 5: The cadets of 8 Assam Battalion, NCC under special pursuance of Colonel Amar Singh SM, the commanding officer of 8 Assam Battalion NCC, Nagaon, carried out sustained cleaning of river front and other water bodies in the district on Sunday and Monday last.

Over 355 cadets from 12 Nagaon based colleges and 7 schools participated in the drive initiated by the battalion. During the drive, the NCC cadets collected more than 400 kgs of plastic as well as other waste materials and handed them to the authorities concerned of Nagaon municipality board for further recycling and reuse as well as for final disposal, a release added.
