NEDF organises handicrafts exhibition in Rudrasagar

SIVASAGAR, Dec 29: The North East Development Forum (NEDF) in collaboration with the ministry of Textiles and Culture, government of India is holding an exhibition of handicrafts at the premises of Janskaya and Rudrasingh Resorts from Thursday. The exhibition was inaugurated by sculptor Durlabh Bora.
More than 700 trained men and women from 16 villages of Rudrasagar and Bhatiapar area are exhibiting more than 300 products made from water hyacinth.
Priyam Hazarika, secretary of NEDF said that the exhibition is being organised with the aim of making the young unemployed financially sound through crafts. There will also be an exhibition of luxurious bamboo and cane products made by 300 men and women from Kenbah and Kenminchao villages from Meghalaya under the NEDF-adopted synthetic cluster.
