NEPT 2022 to be held from Nov 26 to 28

GUWAHATI, Nov 20: Pranab Talukdar, secretary of North East Print Tech (NEPT) addressed a press conference to inform about the events institutionalised at Maniram Dewan Trade Centre from November 26 to November 28, 2022.
Talukdar said, “Our prime objective is to cope up with the fast-changing printing and graphic technology in the north-east region, especially for those, who are connected with print media, commercial printing and graphic industry.”
He further added, “Printing is the mother of all information technology and it creates a permanent impression on our thought process.”
NEPT has institutionalised the following events – showcase of latest technology, equipment and machinery available for printing & graphic technology and software for press system management; augment the local entrepreneurship skills and provide new opportunities to the local youth; create a robust skill base in the printing and graphic sector in NE region.
Apart from the exhibition space, there will also be a dedicated space for seminars for skill development, business to business (B2B) meetings & special workshop on ‘Data Journalism’.
On November 26, at 11:00 am, the ‘Data Journalism’ workshop will be conducted by PTI Bureau chief Durba Ghosh, where members of APCU, Guwahati Press Club and Bartajibi Sangha will participate. Students of Mass Comm and Journalism of various institutions/universities will also attend.
On November 27, two technical workshops on ‘Quality Control and Waste Management in Press Operation’ and ‘Environment Friendly Press (Green Press concept)’ for working members of the printing press will be held. The two workshops will be conducted by renowned printing technologist of India, Surendra B Dhote. Students from management studies of different institutions/ universities of Assam will attend the workshops for self-grooming on entrepreneurship in the printing, packaging & digital industry.
On November 28, one B2B meeting on software will be conducted, which is applicable to manage the entire press operation. Right from advertising booking to circulation billing to press stock management, ‘Summit Technology’ workshop will give the solutions for print and digital media.
“In this event, we are expecting 3000 visitors from all over the north-east. Apart from NE, visitors from Bangladesh will also attend,” said Talukdar.
The exhibition will be open for all 3 days from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and there will be no entry charges.
