New Co-District Commissioner interacts with Demow media

DEMOW, Jan 20: An exchange of views with the new Co-District Commissioner and media persons of Demow was organised at the Co-District Commissioner’s Office, Demow on Monday afternoon. The interaction aimed at strengthening coordination between the administration and the local media while discussing issues concerning the Demow area.

On behalf of the Demow Press Club, Prasanta Gogoi, vice-president of the club, felicitated Lukumoni Borah, the new Co-District Commissioner of Demow Co-District, with a traditional phulam gamosa. The introduction programme was anchored by Shekhar Jyoti Dowari, Secretary of the Demow Press Club.

Following the felicitation, an interactive session was held during which Lukumoni Borah sought to understand the various problems and concerns faced by the people of Demow. Media persons present at the meeting highlighted several civic and administrative issues affecting the area and shared their views with the Co-District Commissioner.

Addressing the gathering, Lukumoni Borah stated that efforts would be made to give a new and more people-friendly structure to the Demow Co-District Commissioner’s Office so that citizens feel comfortable approaching the office with their grievances. She said the administration stands with the people and emphasised the need for active and responsive governance.

Recalling her earlier experience as Moran Circle Officer, she noted that the administrative environment has changed over time and stressed that the present situation calls for greater commitment and proactive work for the welfare of the people. She added that the residents of Demow should feel assured that there is a Co-District Commissioner’s Office ready to listen to them and address their concerns.
