This expansion is part of NFR’s broader efforts to reduce its dependence on conventional energy sources, curbing its carbon footprint while advancing towards renewable energy solutions. These initiatives are aligned with India’s national goals of sustainable development and clean energy adoption.

Looking ahead, NFR is making substantial progress in further boosting its solar energy infrastructure. Currently, projects are underway to install an additional 3935 kWp of solar capacity across its network. Moreover, tenders have been floated for a massive 40,411 kWp of solar projects, aiming to position NFR as a leader in green energy within the Indian Railways network.

The NFR’s ambitious solar energy initiatives are part of its “Go Green” campaign, a testament to its dedication to environmental stewardship and energy conservation. By integrating renewable energy into its operations, NFR is reducing carbon emissions and setting a benchmark for eco-friendly railway services.

These efforts underline NFR’s mission to deliver sustainable and efficient transportation solutions while contributing to a cleaner, greener future for the nation.
