GUWAHATI, Feb 22: The Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar ceremony, held on the occasion of the 68th Railway Week, took place at the Luitgarh Railway Officers’ Club in Maligaon. Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, general manager of NF Railway, presented awards to achievers from various departments of the five divisions and headquarters of NF Railway. A total of 56 individual awards, 25 group awards, and 35 efficiency shields were distributed for outstanding performance during the last year. Additionally, six individuals received the roll of honour for the ‘National Railway Award’ for the year 2023 from various departments.
The Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar has been instituted to recognise the efforts and endeavours of railway employees towards their efficient and dedicated discharge of duties. In his speech, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, general manager of NF Railway, highlighted that NF Railway has achieved an all-round increase in productivity and efficiency through the unwavering commitment, hard work, and coordinated team effort of staff and officers.
The Dibrugarh Station received the Best Kept Station Shield for the year 2022-23. The Divisional Railway Hospital, Dibrugarh, was awarded the Best Kept Hospital award. Both New Bongaigaon and Dibrugarh workshops received the Best Kept Workshop Shield, while the Officers’ Railway Colony of Rangapara won the Best Kept Railway Colony Shield.
Alipurduar and Lumding divisions jointly received the shields for the Personnel department, while Lumding division received it for the Mechanical and Operating departments. Rangiya division won it for the Engineering department. Tinsukia division received it for the Commercial department, while Katihar won the Efficiency Shields for the Accounts, Security, and Stores departments. The Shield for Signal & Telecom and Safety departments was awarded to the Alipurduar division.
Lumding and Tinsukia divisions of NF Railway jointly received the Overall Efficiency Shield for their all-round performances during the last financial year.
Apart from these, various departments and workshops that excelled in various fields were given efficiency shields. Railway officials involved in activities related to Rajbhasha, railway unions/associations, and sports, etc., were also honoured for their excellent performance during the last year.
