Noted educationist, social worker Konbap Ojah passes away

SIVASAGAR, Aug 7: Konbap Ojah, the founder teacher of Dikhowmukh Janajati High School and a resident of Dikhowmukh Krishnachiga village in Sivasagar passed away on Thursday night due to old age ailment. He was 85. Ojah was one of the founders of Dikhowmukh Janajati High School, Dikhowmukh College, Dikhowmukh Primary Health Care Centre and other institutions in Dikhowmukh. He was a prominent activist of Assam Agitation and later involved in Asom Gana Parishad. His demise was widely mourned in Dikhowmukh and Gaurisagar area. Soon after his death, his body was taken to Dikhowmukh Janajati High School where everyone gathered to pay their sincere tribute to the educator. APCU, Sivasagar District Committee, TMPK Sivasagar District Committee, Gaurisagar and Dikhowmukh Press Club, Adhyatmik Yuva Sanmilan, Assam, Brihattar Sivasagar Press Club, representative of MP Tapoon Kumar Gogoi, Amguri MLA Prodip Hazarika, AJP, Sivasagar District Committee mourned his death. He is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.
