Noted social worker, ex-secy of Bahbari Unit Boro Sahitya Sabha Thaneswar Boro passes away

TEZPUR, Oct 6: Thaneswar Boro, noted social worker and an inhabitant of Tamulbari village in greater Bahbari-Bihaguri area in Sonitpur district died on Wednesday evening around 5:10 pm at State Cancer Institute, GMCH.
Boro was suffering from prolonged illness. He left behind his wife, two sons and three daughters along with many followers. He was 63.
Born on March 23 in 1953 at village Tamulbari, Boro after completing his academic life joined Niraiati LP School and retired as headmaster from Tamulbari LP School in 2012.
Besides his dedicated service towards ushering up Boro medium schools in the greater area, he was also connected with several socio-cultural and literary organisations of the area. He was the secretary of Bahbari Boro Sahitya Sabha and was also connected with Tribal Sangha, Bahbari Unit of Assam Sahitya Sabha, greater Saraka-Tamulbari Raas Udjapan Committee, Bishnujyoti Natya Kola Sangha, Rupjyoti Yubak Sangha, Kolia Gosai Thaan, Sarbajanin Bandarmari Durga Puja Committee, SMDC of Omeo Das High School, Nabaprabhat Mahila Samaj and many other social organisations in the area.
Before performing his last rites, a funeral procession was taken out in the area. Different organisations including Bahbari Boro Sahitya Sabha, West Tezpur Anchalick ABSU, Omeo Das High school, Bahbari Unit Sahitya Sabha and Khelmati High School and people of the area paid their last tribute to the departed soul.
