ONGC distributes health items to 200 women

SIVASAGAR, July 10: The CSR wing of ONGC Assam Asset organised a Health Awareness and Wellbeing meeting at Bhatiapar on Wednesday in collaboration with ‘Nari Unnati’, a women-centric organisation. The programme focused on promoting women’s health and hygiene in the region.

Moderated by entrepreneur Shehnaz Begum and youth leader Abhinav Dutta, the awareness session saw the participation of ONGC Executive Officer Punam Dutta, Sivasagar District Sahitya Sabha Secretary Manoj Kumar Gogoi, journalist Enamuddin Ahmed, social worker Saroj Kumar Barua, Asomiya Yuva Mancha Secretary Bishnu Saikia, Anup Chetia, and Bornali Gogoi.

Special guests Rinkraj Sharma and Smriti Rekha Sharma addressed the gathering, delivering informative speeches on menstrual health and its impact on women’s overall well-being.

As part of the event, health items were distributed to 200 women.

Organisers also distributed saplings and dustbins to promote environmental awareness and hygiene.

Manoj Kumar Gogoi expressed gratitude to ONGC for conducting welfare initiatives in the area, which recently gained attention due to a gas leakage incident at an ONGC workout rig.
