JORHAT, May 18:
In a tragic incident, an ONGC employee lost his life after driving his vehicle into the Jagduar River at Teok, in Jorhat district late on Wednesday night.
Police identified the deceased as Bhaskar Jyoti Barman, a resident of Guwahati’s Bamunimaidam. He was an employee of ONGC.
As per initial reports, the incident took place reportedly due to lack of warning signs with expansion works underway for the Four-Lane Project. While travelling on National Highway 37, the driver allegedly went straight and fell into the river as there were no warning signs placed.
