The selling price of paddy will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of the farmers by the paddy procurement centres.
Private traders cannot purchase paddy from farmers at less than the minimum price fixed by the government i.e. Rs 2040 under any circumstances. The Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs department of Sivasagar has issued a notice to the traders saying that legal action will be taken against them in case of violation of the government notifications.
