GUWAHATI, June 3: The Agradoot’s opening ceremony for the year-long golden jubilee celebration scheduled to be observed on July 6, next at the city’s Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra will be formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing.
In a press communiqué issued by The Agradoot’s golden jubilee celebration committee on Sunday, said that Prime Minister Modi has given his consent to formally inaugurate the opening ceremony of the year-long golden jubilee celebration through video conferencing in presence of Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 6.
The Agradoot’s golden jubilee celebration committee president Dr Dayananda Pathak and secretary Bhupen goswami in the press communiqué said, “The Agradoot, which started publishing in 1971, with Kanak Sen Deka as its editor, completed 50 years in 2020. However, due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic ever since 2019, the golden jubilee celebration was postponed for uncertain times.”
The duo also said that including Assam chief minister Sarma, numbers of cabinet ministers, prominent literary figures, senior journalists and artistes will attend the opening ceremony to be organised at the Kalakshetra’s international auditorium.
