NAGAON, July 3: Even though the overall flood situation in Nagaon district has been improving slightly, the post flood diseases like vomiting and loose motions have wreaked havoc in the flood ravaged areas of Nagaon, Kampur, Raha and other parts of the district. According to reliable sources from District Health Services, Nagaon, 3 women from the flood-hit Kampur areas have died of post flood diseases like vomiting and loose motions.

The deceased women are Hushnara Begum (35) of Pachim Kakotigaon, Parbin Sultana (25) of Dabolu Beel and Bulbuli Begum (45) of Kampur police station.
Among these 3 deceased women, Hushnara Begum died on June 26 last in a temporary shelter at Kampur and Parbin Sultana died on June 24 last after being admitted to Nagaon BP Civil Hospital while Bulbuli Begum died on the same day i.e., on June 24 at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital when she was undergoing treatment, sources from district health services, Nagaon added.
Following the death of those women, the special medical expert teams from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital visited the flood ravaged areas of the district on Friday and Saturday last and reviewed the health related issues of people residing in flood-hit areas. Besides, the medical experts from Guwahati also collected various samples related to diseases from various people living in flood relief camps as well as other places in the flood-hit areas of the district, sources said adding further that the experts were yet to confirm the diseases and further testing as well as examinations were on.
